Hey, thanks for stopping by! My name is Don H. Morris. And that’s my wife Nan C. in the photo beside me. Reno and SusieQ, our Akita Inus, make up the rest of our family here in Memphis, Tennessee.
(We don’t use those middle initials most of the time, but for some reason I always do online.)
We attend a small church in mid-town Memphis that practices one another ministry. When the large church we all attended sold their building and moved to the suburbs, we decided to stay in mid-town. We didn’t hire a preacher – instead, the men in the group take turns leading Bible discussions. We didn’t buy a building — instead, we rent a small chapel at a historic cemetery on Sunday mornings and meet in members’ homes for Sunday evening meetings and mid-week Bible studies.
Five years later we are still going strong. Things have not always gone soothly. There are times to we thought our little group would fail. And it still may.
Everyone has grown more doing things this way in five years than in the previous twenty sitting in pews listening to preachers and teachers, with little or no involvement expected or even allowed. It’s an adventure.
I bet you’re here because you are exploring these same ideas. Hopefully you can learn from us and we can learn from you. Leave a comment, so this blog can be interactive, too.
Been nice walking with you.
Take care and God bless.
Don
